An Unsteady Economy and Big-Business Generosity

Leader of Universal Design Project Details Corporate Contributions

Columbus, OH – June 26, 2012 – With America’s economy still comprised of slippery rocks and eggshells, many corporations find themselves in an ill-philanthropic position as compared to years’ past. Tourniquets are being applied to company-wide budgets to maintain workforces and remain in the black, leaving meager room for donations or charitable community-assistance. Thankfully, regardless of economic uncertainty, some corporations have sustained their goodwill, and also recognize the inherent positive marketing benefits to continued generosity.

“The Universal Design Living Laboratory, a national demonstration home and garden, has been the recipient of time and product contributions from many big-business benefactors, such as Kohler and Marvin Windows and Doors,” says speaker and consultant Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D.. “Without these altruistic contributions, my husband and I would have been unable to see this project through, and their generosity in an uncertain economic time adds all the more value to what they’ve provided.”

Many corporations can see past the profit-loss of donating time and materials and instead put higher value on the customer-friendly perception they receive from providing contributions.

Along with her unique experiences with corporate generosity, Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D. can offer your readers tips on:

•    Preparing for a multigenerational household
•    Overcoming the challenges of accommodating older generations
•    Creating a ‘disability-friendly’ home

Rosemarie Rossetti, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized speaker and advocate for people with disabilities. Along with her husband, Mark Leder, she is spearheading the Universal Design Living Laboratory (www.UDLL.com), a national demonstration home and garden project to help people better understand how to create a more comfortable living environment that will enhance their quality of life. As a keynote speaker, she shares the lessons she has learned since a tragic accident left her paralyzed from the waist down, and demonstrates how to rise above misfortune and live life with conviction.
